Okay, on to the news...

Threads is rolling out in-app scheduling to users now

If you're like me and have trouble staying consistent on Threads due to lack of scheduling options...well that's about to change. Threads officially announced a new roll-out of scheduling directly in the app and you should have the option soon. When writing a Threads post, tap the three dots in the upper right corner to see if you have the schedule option.

Instagram is launching a new video editing app called "Edits" which should come out in February

Wow what a week! Tons of changes from Instagram (conveniently aligning with the brief TikTok deactivation in the US on Sunday). Among the changes, Instagram announced a new video editing app called "Edits" which is probably meant to fill any void that could come if CapCut is deactivated again.

The head of Instagram announced that: "Edits is more than a video editing app, it’s a full suite of creative tools. There will be a dedicated tab for inspiration, another to keep track of any early ideas you might have, a much higher quality camera which I used to record this video, all the editing tools you’d expect, the ability to share drafts with friends and other creators, and, if you decide to share your videos on Instagram, powerful insights on how those videos do."

Instagram isn't done with the profile changes, here's the full roadmap...

Instagram is continuing to work on a much more streamlined profile and grid. While the changes to the grid were quite sudden this weekend, we now have a full outline of all changes that are still coming. It's a useful read to prepare for the future.
